"Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still" - Dorothea Lange
For me it all began as a child with my first plastic film camera bought as a Christmas gift back in the late 80's, I remember the flimsy little pop up 'view finder' and how much fun it was taking snapshots of family and neighbours, waiting excitingly waiting for the prints to come back from the lab...
The world of digital has changed the face of photography forever and in my opinion for the better and I would use one word to sum it up "FREEDOM"
After returning from 7 months of travelling in 2007 with a Pentax Optio 50 'point and shoot' camera in tow I knew that photography was going to be a massive part of my life and the next step was going to be a DSLR. I'm currently shooting with Canon 400d with a selection of lenses covering from 10mm to 300mm.
My photography allows me to explore whole new visions and outlooks on the objects in question.
For me it's about finding different interpretations of everyday visions...
This is where it begins.
"Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought" - Albert von Szent-Gyorgy
In 2008 I entered myself in to the International Library Of Photography competition, I won the Editor's Choice Award for my photo 'Tram-a-lam-a-ding-dong' and was published in the yearly book they produce and sell.
"The editors of the International Library of Photography were thrilled to inform you that your photo was honored with the prestigious Editor's Choice Award because of your artistic accomplishments and unique perspective--characteristics found in the most noteworthy photographic works.
